Cadence - Galatians 5:23b-26 (11 of 11)
In this concluding message in the Cadence Summer Sermon Series, we consider the cognitive skill of self-control, we delve into Galatians 5, and uncover the ongoing spiritual battle within us. The fruit of the Spirit - particularly self-control - is juxtaposed against the desires of the flesh, reminding us of the constant struggle we face as believers. Through numerous biblical examples, from Adam and Eve to King David, we see how a lack of self-control has led to downfall, while its presence has led to spiritual victory. This message challenges us to 'crucify' our flesh daily, keeping it nailed to the cross until it expires. We're called to march in step with the Holy Spirit, allowing Him to cultivate His fruit in our lives while we actively work to mortify our sinful nature. This dual approach - surrendering to the Spirit's work while actively participating in our sanctification - offers a profound strategy for spiritual growth and transformation in our daily walk with God.
