2025 Easter Sunday - The Greatest Comeback in History

Apr 20, 2025    Pastor Daryl

On Resurrection Sunday our task was to survey John 20, in so doing we observed the transformative power of Christ's resurrection. The passage takes us into the locked room where the disciples huddled in fear, only to be met by the risen Jesus. His words, 'Peace be with you,' remind us that Christ's presence can dispel our deepest anxieties. The story of Thomas, often labeled as 'doubting,' challenges us to examine our own faith. Are we willing to believe without seeing? Jesus' gentle response to Thomas's cynicism shows us God's patience with our doubts. The profound declaration, 'My Lord and my God,' serves as a model for our own recognition of Christ's divinity. Importantly, Jesus' blessing for those who believe without seeing speaks directly to us today. We're called to embrace a faith that goes beyond physical evidence, finding blessing in our trust in the unseen risen Lord. This passage encourages us to move from fear to faith, from doubt to declaration, and to live as witnesses of the resurrection power in our daily lives.
